THE BRIEF

Growing up in Vietnam, Bonnie developed a passion for flavour and simple cooking methods. After moving to the UK, Bonnie’s sauces were developed using authentic recipes to give consumers a convenient and healthy way to enjoy Oriental cooking in their kitchen. Our challenge was to create a strong new positioning and packaging design for Bonnie’s sauces to help them launch into the busy mainstream cooking sauce market.

OUR APPROACH

UK supermarkets are awash with Asian cooking sauces, but we found that most brands had stuck with the traditional image, and were often viewed as low quality and mass produced. Inspired by Bonnie’s passion and the bright lights of the East we saw the opportunity to create a sophisticated brand and vibrant packaging which promised some of the most exciting tastes of the East…

THE RESULT

We wanted to capture on pack the energy and glamour of the city that only comes to life after dark. Gleaming neon tones and tinted varnishes were used to force differentiation across the range and cue the vibrant skyline of the modern Asian city.
